Weber Shandwick announced today that it has been named the exclusive PR agency in China for easy-forex, a pioneering global forex, commodities and options broker, effective immediately.

Weber Shandwick’s appointment follows a competitive agency review held by easy-forex in early 2014, after the broker expanded its mainland China presence with a marketing office in Shanghai.

“With Weber Shandwick’s passion for our company, we are confident that we’ve found the right communications partner in China,” said Michael Konnaris, chief executive officer, easy-forex. “We were impressed by Weber Shandwick’s strong international and China financial media relationships, the team’s enthusiasm and their ability to tell compelling stories to our stakeholders. We felt that only a top tier team such as Weber Shandwick can help us execute our rigorous plans to both strengthen our brand visibility, as well as leverage our credibility and offering to expedite our growth.”

Weber Shandwick has been tasked with providing PR counsel and building comprehensive stakeholder engagement programmes for easy-forex in China, while utilising Weber Shandwick’s brand publishing unit, Mediaco. Mediaco provides an end-to-end solution that helps brands adopt a media mindset by combining first-rate editorial planning and production, emerging technologies and paid media in support of distribution and discovery of content.

“We are thrilled to be selected as easy-forex’s agency of record and excited to deliver on the strength of our growing financial services offering in China,” said Darren Burns, managing director, Weber Shandwick China. “We look forward to working closely with easy-forex as we raise its profile as a thought leader and help to create a robust stakeholder engagement platform in China.”
