On 7 September 2013, the International Olympic Committee elected Tokyo the host city of the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Since the early stages of the Tokyo 2020 Bid Committee communication campaign, Weber Shandwick has served as the lead strategic PR agency advising on international communications aspects and executing the global public relations campaign.

To best position Tokyo, Weber Shandwick brought together a team of Olympic PR specialists with Bid Campaign experience from across its network.
