When China-based solar panel manufacturer Suntech hit the 7 gigawatts of shipped solar panels milestone, a first in the industry, it did not want to commemorate the achievement via a traditional press release. Instead Weber Shandwick and Suntech agreed to showcase the achievement for consumers through a visually appealing infographic.

With the theme ‘What does 7 gigawatt mean?’, Weber Shandwick equated the number to metrics that could be easily understood (such as number of homes, electric tooth brushes, etc.).   The infographic was launched on the Suntech blog on September 18, and was promoted through its Facebook and Twitter pages.
