Weber Shandwick today announced senior leadership appointments to further bolster the firm’s growth in Singapore. Christina Cheang has joined the firm as chairman of its Singapore operations. Additionally, managing director Vanessa Ho Nikolovski will now have full oversight of the Singapore office, with former co-managing director Margaret Cunico assuming a President (Emeritus) position.

Cheang joins Weber Shandwick after a five-year tenure as regional managing director, Singapore and Southeast Asia, at sister agency GolinHarris. A journalist by trade, she is charged with providing senior strategic counsel, developing new business opportunities, and fostering talent within the Singapore team.

In addition to leading the day-to-day operations of the office, Ho Nikolovski will drive business opportunities for new and existing key clients and will continue in her regional role to spearhead key multi-market client relationships for the firm.

Both Cheang and Ho Nikolovski will report to Baxter Jolly, vice-chairman, Asia Pacific. These appointments are effective as of December 1.

“As we welcome Christina to the Weber Shandwick team, this is clearly an exciting time for us in Singapore. Vanessa and Margaret have done an exceptional job co-leading the team over the past two years, but their contributions to Weber Shandwick have actually spanned decades,” said Weber Shandwick Asia Pacific chairman Tim Sutton. “It’s a testament to Margaret’s dedication that, after over two decades with the firm, she is committed to continuing her work in supporting our key clients. Vanessa’s strengths in driving successful results for both the firm and our clients will serve her well as she takes on full leadership responsibilities.”
