Weber Shandwick has announced the appointment of Rohan Kanchan to the position of managing director, Consulting and Strategy, effective January 2015. Kanchan will report to Valerie Pinto, CEO designate, Weber Shandwick India, who joins the firm at the start of January 2015.

Based in Mumbai, Kanchan will lead the firm’s Corporate and Finance practices, as well as specific consultancy assignments. He brings extensive industry experience to the role, having worked across corporate, finance, technology, investor relations and advisory services during his previous tenure with Perfect Relations. He has also consulted and managed large multi-sector mandates in corporate affairs, financial communications, strategic planning, brand communications and new media.

“Rohan’s extensive client service experience and expertise across sectors will enrich the strength of our offerings in Mumbai, enhancing both our business and that of our clients,” said Atul Ahluwalia, vice chairman, Weber Shandwick India. “We are delighted to have Rohan join our senior management team to lead our Corporate and Finance practices here in India.”

A commerce graduate, Kanchan holds a Masters in Management Studies and a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communications from The Xavier Institute of Communications.
