Weber Shandwick in the Philippines helped launch a homecoming mission celebrating 30 years of the international medical charity Operation Smile, which provides free reconstructive surgery to impoverished children suffering from facial deformities.

‘The Journey Home’ campaign — which will involve 10 international missions, 30 countries and 1000 volunteers — kicked off with a press launch in Manila and featured an emotional presentation by former Operation Smile surgery beneficiary Chadleen Lacdo-o (pictured below), a well-known Filipino singer and official ambassador for the charity. In the coming months the campaign will focus on telling stories similar to Chadleen’s by sharing the testimonials of former patients, as well as turning the spotlight on the volunteers, medical practitioners, celebrities and corporate sponsors whose efforts have made possible the great work Operation Smile has carried out.
