Weber Shandwick closes out the year scoring its fifth “agency of the year” accolade as the Most Influential PR Agency of the Year at this year’s China Media & Industry Leaders Conference. This is in addition to being named Campaign Asia Pacific Greater China Agency of the Year, PRWeek Asia Pacific Greater China Consultancy of the Year, International Business Awards (Stevies) PR Agency of the Year (China, Japan, Korea), and 5iPR PR Agency of the Year.
The five top awards are among 55 accolades received by the agency during 2013 and 2014, including numerous honours for its work in auto, consumer electronics, cloud computing, crisis management, food marketing, financial products, fashion, healthcare, retail and tourist attractions. Fifteen of these are in recognition of work across social media and digital marketing.
Burns attributed the agency’s outstanding performance this year to enriching the way it delivered value to clients. This involved making unconventional new hires to diversify its talent pool, fostering cross-practice collaboration, strengthening its content creation capabilities, and leveraging its deep understanding of Chinese challenges to develop strategic tools and methodologies that help clients overcome them.
“Innovating the way we operated enabled us to take a 360-degree approach to helping our clients achieve their business outcomes. This past year has seen us assuming more lead-agency responsibilities for many of our clients, driving integrated campaigns that cover strategic branding and issues management through consumer activation,” he said. “This has not only nurtured organic growth, but has also helped deepen our knowledge of client sectors/business.”
